Sr Beatrice was born on 27th April 1935 in Bantwal Taluk to her God-fearing parents Magdaline D’Souza and John Baptist D’Silva. She was given the baptismal name Mary D’Silva. Among eight children in the family, she was the youngest. She belonged to Infant Jesus Parish, Modankap. After completing her 11th grade, she responded to God’s call and joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation on 1st June 1956 at Holy Rosary Convent, Jeppu, Mangalore. She made her Temporary Profession on 5th May 1958, and later made her final commitment to the Lord with her Perpetual Profession on 16th May 1963.

Sr Hilda Goveas was born on 04 July 1960 to Mr Xavier Goveas and Mrs. Lucy Dias of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Shirthadi, diocese of Mangalore. Among seven children Sr Hilda Goveas is the first child. After completing her SSLC, she willingly and wholeheartedly responded to the call of God and she joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation on 28th May 1978. She made her temporary profession in the year 1981 and the perpetual profession on 2nd April 1986. The first ‘Yes’ which she said was renewed and lived relentlessly for 44 years in the service of the Lord.

Sr Barbara was born in Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Belthangady as youngest of 6 children to Mr Piade Franko and Coces D Souza. She was baptized Alice. She completed her primary education in Parish School, Belthangady, High School and Teachers’ Training at Capitanio in Mangalore. In 1958 she felt called by the Lord to religious life and joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, in 1960 made her Temporary profession and dedicated perpetually to the Lord in 1964.

She was the youngest among the seven children, born to late Antony Fernandes and late Regina D’Souza who were devout and caring parents. She was baptized as Emilian Fernandes. She pursued her early education at St Francis Xavier, Kenha, then high school at Admar, PUC and BSc at St Agnes College, Bendur Mangalore.

Sr Christina Tamut, fondly known as Yabom, was born on 2nd January 1977 in Jomoh, Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh, to her loving parents, Mr. Talung Tamut and Mrs. Atek Tamut. She was the fourth of five children in a devout and close-knit family. Her journey of faith began when she was baptized on 25th December 2002 at St Francis De Sales Parish, Pasighat, Itanagar. Drawn to a life of prayer and service, she joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation North East Province, on 19th May 2007, where her religious vocation took deep roots.

Sr Charlotte D’Souza, was born on December 19, 1947, in a devout family of Mr. Baptist D Souza and Mrs Mary Magdalene Monteiro, at Karopady, Vijayadka in the Diocese of Mangalore. At Baptism she was named as Seraphine. She grew up with her nine siblings, eight brothers and one sister. She was the fifth child in the D’Souza family. Young Charlotte, responded to the Ursuline Fraciscan way of life at the age of sixteen after her matriculation and joined the Congregation in 1966 at Holy Rosary Convent, Jeppu, Mangalore.

Sr Hazil was born on 28th January 1946 to Late Bernard D’Souza and Mercine D’Souza in a God-fearing and devout family. She was the fifth among the eight children. After the completion of primary education at St Lawrence School Karopady and High School education at Sacred Heart School Kulshekar, she joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation on 14th May 1967. The spirit of prayer, devotion, faithfulness to the Lord and service-mindedness was seen throughout her life. She made the Temporary Profession on 8th May 1970 and the Perpetual Profession on 9th May1975 at Holy Rosary Convent, Jeppu. Sr Hazil was a role model to others. As a result, many have responded to God’s call from her family and are now rendering their service in the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation.
