  • The Cross: The Glorious Cross at the center of the emblem depicts the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It calls the members to a life of service with simplicity, humility, and obedience by launching deeper into the life of the people.

  • Crossed Arms of Jesus Christ and St Francis of Assisi: Francis's Gospel life, which was kenotic, transformed him into the Mirror of Christ. The crossed arms below the Cross and over the cloud of glory depict that in self-emptying we are being lifted up and raised with Christ - Spirituality of Self-emptying (Kenosis).

  • The Crown of Thorns Encircling the Aflamed Heart of Jesus: This symbolizes the call for sacrificial love on the part of the members for God, self, others, and the cosmos, modeled on the life of Jesus – Spirituality of Relationship (Koinonia).

  • Vine and Grapes: “Whoever remains in me, and I in him will bear much fruit”. (cf. Jn 15:5) Vine and Grapes symbolize apostolic fruitfulness of proclaiming the fulness of life of God’s reign which is possible for us only if we abide in Christ and discern the will of God in contemplation – Spirituality of Discernment (Diakrisis).

  • For the Love of God: The scroll beneath the emblem epitomizes the Motto of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation. This is the heritage received by the members of St Angela Merici who urge to have an attitude of mind and heart to act solely for the love of God and zeal for souls (cf. St Angela Merici, First Legacy, p. 49).
