After the canonical erection quite a few convents were opened in the remote villages in the Diocese of Mangalore and the Sisters plunged themselves into catechesis, prepared the children in the reception of sacraments, assisted in pastoral works, taught in primary schools and looked after the orphan children. There were requests to open more Ursuline foundations for the people appreciated the Sisters for their life of poverty, simplicity and Gospel dedication.
